The Sweet Simplicity of Happiness Series - Life on the Lawn
The weather in England has been really good this week. In fact I had a new Barbour jacket delivered yesterday and ended up having to take it off due to it being too warm. I don’t expect that these temperatures will last right through until October but it does remind me that life spent on the lawn is not too far away.
Staring up at the sky as the grass tickles your ear. Making plans in your head before going in to the kitchen for more lemonade. This year we’ll have the twins to watch as they make their first foray in to Spring & Summer life spent on the lawn.
Stretching out and feeling the sun on my skin. Knowing that it’s doing me good. Taking the time to rest and read. These pictures were taken on the lawn at Blenheim Palace, Easter 2007. I love looking back and I love looking forward. I love what’s happening right now too and it’s because of this that times gone by and times ahead hold such good memories and promise.
I can feel the grass wrapping itself around my arm as I look at the picture above, can you? It’s the ‘simples’ that memories are made of. Not the big stuff. Grass, blue sky, Robert the Husband…….oh, and cheese. I ate so much cheese that day and as I love cheese that too holds fond memories.
Life on the Lawn.
The good life indeed.
Back tomorrow, hopefully, with an abundance of cup cakes.
