Continuing to Live an Outdoor Life
Today is Thursday which means I write under the Entertaining & Celebrations section. I wanted this section to encapsulate celebrating all things not just events and today is one of those days that is simply about celebrating living out of doors. Yesterday I wrote about the brilliant nights sleep that I get when I have been working outside all day and how it takes me back to those long heady days of being a child during the summertime.
Well what about the children who are with us right now, where do they fit in to this new way of being under the sky for a good portion of the day and evening?
Truly & Daisy are my sister’s twin girls and they are the children who are with us right now. Robert the Husband and I are on our own journey with regards to having a family and one day I’ll tell you about it. But for now it’s about these two and as they are still quite tiny we have to make sure that if they are outside with us, celebrating living out of doors, it’s not only fun but safe, comfortable and, as all children appreciate this, brightly coloured.
What is that through the trees?
I’ll get closer.
It’s not big enough for me!
But it looks just about the right size for the little ones.
I think they like it although it takes a moment for them to launch themselves right in.
Daisy definitely likes it. She’s awesome like that, she’s knows a good thing when she sees it and gives you an open smile of appreciation.
Truly however would like to know if there’s room service.
That’s my girl Tru, that’s my girl!
So that is this week’s celebration. Living outdoors and taking the children in our lives with us. We are in the process of writing up the instructions on how to make this Wig-Wam for children and will be posting them in the next crafty post which is a week tomorrow.

Ahhhhhh, now this is something that looks like a big pile of fence posts and IS INDEED a big pile of fence posts, but actually represents a new stage for us here at Cherry Menlove.com
On Saturday quite a few members of the family are getting together to erect a post and rail fence that will eventually become two sides of a fruit and vegetable garden. The weather will have cooled somewhat by then which is music to our ears as the ground the posts have to go in to is as hard as iron and a wee breeze will make the day easier.
The main difference to this project is that we’re filming it. This will be the first filmed segment to go live on the new website and we hope to have it edited and ready to view in just a couple of weeks. We’re also having a huge cookout after the hard work has been done and we’ll be filming that too!
These are exciting times. We are looking to the autumn when the preparation of new vegetable beds will start and all that we do here will begin to grow yet another arm of creativity and fun.

But, it has to be said that things have also been a little heartbreaking around these parts too recently, especially for Robert and I. But we press on and ensure that in all things we bring healing and THE BEST possible experiences in to our life.
