We cooked on Christmas Eve. Getting things ready for the next day. Robert the Husband rustled up a batch of sausage rolls. They were eaten pretty quickly.
He also made two different types of risotto. Delicious, divine and a juggling act to cook.

I volunteered him to cook two types you see, and he pulled it off with much aplomb and only one or two (hundred) swear words.
I just sort of snuck around the joint taking pictures and acting as Robert’s commis chef when needed. All hands on deck setting the dining room tables. Thanks guys.
After supper we played a game. I like it when we get ferociously competitive but in a friendly way. It keeps us bright.
Robert decided to put the turkey in upside down and on a super low heat overnight. Believe it or not this bird was over 16 pounds. Robert says it looks small because his hands are so large (!!!!!!)
The next morning we had presents and one very good little girl played like a grown up with her new books.
God, I love that outfit. Even if I have two boys they’ll be getting an outfit like that, I love it so much!!!
And another very good little girl was the filling in a cushion sandwich. They like being ‘fillings’ it makes them laugh. And if there’s one thing we love at Christmas, or any other time, it’s hearing that laugh. Needless to say they get to be ‘fillings’ fairly regularly.
I’m in Austria right now and shall report dutifully from here tomorrow. I hope you’ve all been having a truly wonderful time over the last few days. We have. We’re by a lake and lapping up the calming power of staring at the water.
