We woke up the day after Boxing Day to a spectacular view of Lake Wolfgang, Austria. We’d arrived in the dark so it’s always nice to see what you have arrived into when the sun comes up.
We set off early in the day to town and wandered about for a bit. Robert the Husband was taken with the sweets.
I, however, was taken with the Apple Strudel. I’m still eating little and often due to waves of nausea throughout the day but this put it right almost immediately… funnily enough!
St. Wolfgang is lovely. Very sleepy but not boring.
Big hotels and little market huts.
We have eaten from these little huts more than once.
See? Always talking or thinking about food!
Can’t help but wonder what goes on up there. Very cosy.
A wee stop by the lake to adjust my earmuffs.
And a trip up the mountain to see the skiers. We can’t ski this year as I’m up the duff and Robert has very kindly offered to hang out with me on ground level. The snow wasn’t great up there anyway so we didn’t miss out on too much. A little early in the season perhaps.
Mostly our trip has been a series of days held together by long stretches of sleep, season one of House, food, chatting, hanging out together, making plans, staring in to space while walking along the streets of the town….
…and napping during the day. I was asleep behind those bug-eyed Chanels, you know.
Have an amazing New Years Eve and I’ll see you on the other side.
Oh what fun we’ll have together in 2010.
I can just feel it!
