My Twin Pregnancy Diary – 21 Weeks

Hello Meatballs!

Well, we’ve just completed 21 weeks together as a little family unit. It would definitely seem as if you are getting bigger by the amount of moving about that you do. Sometimes it’s just a little pop. Like a bubble bursting against the inside of my tummy. Sometimes it’s much more of a sweeping motion. Like you are turning over or waving an arm or a leg above your head.

I’ve enjoyed this week of being pregnant more than any other so far. Robert the Husband and I went in to London on both Saturday and Sunday of this past weekend. I purchased a pair of jeans that fit wonderfully and still have room for expansion. There I was, standing in Mamas & Papas on Regent Street looking a little spaced out as I couldn’t immediately see anything  that I thought would be suitable. All of the jeans were folded at ground level and to be honest bending down isn’t my favourite pastime at the mo. Robert spotted this and leapt into action. Pulling out various pairs in various sizes and even agreeing to sit in the changing room with me while I tried them all on.

Those two days were the first days that I really experienced what it was like for a pregnant lady to be out and about. People were super helpful, directed me to the lifts when I was happy to take the stairs and just sort of grinned at me when I was walking along. I turned to Robert at one point and said “can you really tell that I’m pregnant because I think I look like I’ve just had a large lunch?”. It’s odd that, I suppose it’s because I see myself daily.

Although when I was watching One Born Every Minute the other evening on Channel Four I was a little worried that one of the ladies who was about to give birth looked to be about the same size as I am now and I still have about 16/18 weeks to go.

*sigh*

This is going to be the nursery. We’ve started to move our furniture out of this room now to make way for baby stuff. Anyone who follows me on Twitter or Facebook will know that we ordered two white cot beds and mattresses the other evening and hope for them to be delivered early next week. This was super exciting as they are the first things that we have bought for the meatball’s arrival.

This room was previously a snug and had two sofas and a television in it. The walls are also covered in black and white prints of the family so I’ll have to find another spot for all of them. We’re going to leave the sofa bed in here as it may come in handy at some point when the two of them are in here permanently.

It was a looooverrrrly day yesterday so I spent some time in there taking the pictures down and readying the space for all things baby.

Next week I’m going to start on my first proper craft project for the two of them and have already bought the fabric. Having seen some lovely nursery set ups in Mama’s & Papa’s over the weekend we certainly have a good idea of what feel we’d like to achieve so it all turns in to a lot of fun from here on in. Hopefully there will be enough room left for the children once I’ve finished all of my ‘projects’ but I can’t guarantee it.

We are already being bought things for them by other people and I’m laying them all out in the nursery so that we can see what we have.

The babies won’t be able to read for a while but will still be born in to a Beatrix Potter infused nursery……….

………and Japanese craft fabric of course!!!!!

Forget the breast pump and the blankets JUST GIVE ME THE FABRIC!!!!
