At this time in my life I feel like I’m just a head.

A head, that I know is my own, attached to a body that came from a place far, far away.

I can’t remember if I told you this or not but one of the babies is sitting on a nerve at the top of my abdomen. That means that if this twin moves in to a certain position I get a searing pain right under the surface of my skin. Occasionally it gets so bad that I can’t have anything touching it so I have to pull my top up (nice). Nobody around me seems to mind and if they did there is nothing I could do about it as it feels like I am being sliced down the front of my body.

One way to relieve the pain is to sit back and let the baby float away from the nerve. As I work full time I can’t spend the whole day lying down but as I’m fortunate to work from home I can do certain things from this chair without too much disruption. I only need a few moments of relief and then I’m back to it.

A lot happens in this chair.

I can spy on folk in my kitchen and make cheeky comments when I’m super bored of sitting down.

I can heave myself up when my bum goes numb.

I can watch them kick me from the inside and then tell them off for it.

I can give Robert the Husband this look when he walks in from work and chuckles at me. Saying something along the lines of “Hee hee, you’re getting so big”

I can also pull this face when my sister walks into the house each morning to start work and greets me with “Morning fatty”

This is the face that Robert gets when he suggests that I may go full term with these two. Thus implying that I have another THREE AND A HALF MONTHS TO GO!!!!!

This is me saying “Why would you say that when all I can do is sit in this chair due to one of YOUR CHILDREN camping out on a nerve in my belly? Why, why??????”

This is me turning my back passive/aggressively on Robert the Husband when he doesn’t give me a good enough answer to the previous question.

And this is me most of the time right now to be honest.

Annoyingly, this is me a few moments later as Robert always gets out of trouble by being very cute and very funny and offering to buy me a very large gift.

Damn you!

And this is me, in my chair, and free of pain as the baby moves off the nerve. The moment when my face and body totally collapses and gives in to sheer, unadulterated  relief.

*sigh*
