Today is an extraordinary day in my life. A day of firsts and of thirds.
It is the first day of the first part of the shoot for my first book.
It is also my third wedding anniversary.
The book, published by Orion which is an imprint of Hachette, will be published next Spring. It will be full to the brim with fabulous pictures, projects, recipes, crafts, ideas and stories. And all with a little twist that I can’t tell you about right now.
This week I’ll be posting Behind the Scenes pictures from the shoot. Sometimes I may just post a picture with no writing because that’s all I have time for and I’ll be Facebooking and Tweeting along the way. Robert and I were convinced that he would be home by the time the shoot started but it was not meant to be. We found out last Thursday that the first round of chemo only hit 15% of the cancer cells, which is not a huge amount. So a new treatment has started and we’re hoping for that to kick it’s ass instead. He may be home by the time the shoot finishes, that would be GREAT! You’re allowed to be late once in a while, especially if you have a good excuse.
As I don’t have much time right now I’d just like to say Happy Anniversary to my darling husband. I love you, I miss you and I want to thank you for marrying me.
I’d also like to say right now, from the start, that unless people read this site no publisher would want to publish me. So the very reason that I am getting to spend a week, quite literally, making my dreams come true (and then get to do it all over again for the second shoot in October) is because of YOU!
You read this site and hopefully you’ll like what is published in the book as much as you like what you read here.

I’m very thankful that this book came along when it did because it has been one of the reasons why I have been able to stay so busy and as you can imagine there’s still a lot to get done but I’ll fill you in on everything as the week progresses.
I love you all a great deal. You guys are helping to keep me and my entire family and network of friends sane right now with your messages, prayers and love. We’ll get there I know we will.
But for now, I’ve bathed the kids (they turn orange when we have pasta for tea), put them to bed and all I have to do is bring in some bits from the garden and I’m off to bed. I’ve been up since three a.m. in that “really excited” kinda way but now of course I can’t keep my eyes open.
