Ahhhh, I feel better knowing that there are people like that in the world. Don’t you? Number 8 was the one that made me cry in to my coffee this morning. I immediately thought of my son, Ned.

I love you and thank you for reading.

    @all
whatever you do, please never turn into an ignorant insensitive douchebag just because you think “the world is bad” (or something along those lines). there are literally millions of kind and caring people out there. so why not keep staying one of them? :) <3

  2. Your photos made my day. Great job.

  3. rachel says:

  4. Stella says:

No.4 and no.8 brought a few tears to my eyes, so lovely to see some positive acts of humanity. :)

  5. Abida says:

Dearest cherry, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the same heart-warming pictures on your website. I came across them a few days ago and found myself crying because just when I convinced myself the world is a cold place, so much love showed me otherwise. Thank you for this beautiful post, all my love to you,Robert and the babies, abida x

I just quickly clicked on my emails this morning and when I started reading your bog update I thought “this is going to be really cheesy”. By the time I finished reading it I too was nursing a lump in my throat but a warm feeling in my middle and now I’m off to do the food shop with a completely different head on.

  7. Citychick says:

Yes it’s when we suffer crisis we look round for someone to be kind to us. We have to bear that in mind. There is always someone in crisis at any given time so kindness needs to be on tap permanently. Very uplifting pictures that restore our faith in human nature. Yes Rupert Murdoch would have a best seller on his hands if he printed an honest to goodness newspaper.

  8. Emily says:

Thank you for sharing these beautiful photos.

  9. Bex says:

It’s so good to be reminded that there are good people out there. I have suffered a bit of a crisis of doubt in human nature recently after my husbands watch, which was a wedding present from me, was stolen, and so this is a timely pick me up – thank-you. It has certainly made me think about being more mindful of how I can do something good for someone else when it’s not expected.

I was in Wagamama in St Albans sat next to a couple with a baby who got bought their meal – similar to number 18, when they went to pay they were told a gentleman from a few tables down (who had left) had already settled their bill. He apparently goes in there regularly, and about once a year will buy someone their meal but does not want to be identified. The couple were overjoyed and the lovely gesture made me smile for the whole day….really uplifting.

  11. Janine says:

Wow, that has given me a wonderful warm feeling in my heart!! Thank you – I missed this elsewhere so lovely to catch it here. All such kind acts of selflessness that does reaffirm faith in mankind. It’s not manmean after all ;o)

  12. Pam says:

I liked the picture of the man giving the girl his flip flops. It’s such a basic need, as is food.I was traumatised watching some vigilante villagers in Africa the other week on T.V. doling out punishment to miscreants whose only sin was to feed themselves, that’s not so bad is it? The real sin is that there are greedy filthy rich thieves and controllers in this world who cheat and store up the wealth that was meant for the nations. Let us all start doing acts of kindness if you are not already. It begins with you……… no me.

  13. Posy Pea says:

    Thank you so much, Cherry
I have not seen this anywhere else so would not have seen it at all without your posting.
We all need to know that, really, there is an awful lot of Good out there!
    Love
    Posy x

Firstly I think you should leave this post up for at least a week so lots more readers get to see it and secondly I wish Rupert and James Murdoch could see it and then would create a news paper dedicated to good news. We are tired of evil reports and how low mankind can sink when dealing with others. We love good news. It builds our spirits up and creates waves of good feelings towards each other. Thinking kind thoughts keeps our minds sound and expecting good things to happen, rubs off on others.

  15. Nikki says:

I truly believe there are more good people than bad they just don’t get publicity. I loved all the photos but was really moved by the book seller because we all need to feed our minds, souls and have a chance to escape, and no.8 because I have an 18 year old son and my greatest fear in life is losing him.

  16. Wendi Yates says:

Really beautiful Cherry. We in Ontario are going through our own crisis at the moment. On Sunday, the roof of a shopping mall which I believe was also a carpark, collapsed. There are people, at least two trapped – on is believed to have died but tapping noises have been heard. What is left of the mall is so unstable that yesterday the rescue mission was called off for fear that there would be additional victims. The people of Elliot Lake which is in Northern Ontario and a bit remote to get to, protested and the mayor of the town called the Premier of Ontario to ask how he would feel if it was his family member trapped in the rubble – the rescue mission is back on. Many of the residents of Elliot Lake are miners and have offered their services to the rescue mission. Heavy equipment is on its way and we are all praying that they will be in time for anyone who has survived.

  17. Linz says:

    *Blub…sniff…gulp*…lovely x

  18. Vicki B says:

Thank you for this. It helps balance the scale.

  19. Tiffany says:

Beautiful post Cherry. These things aren’t in the news, but they happen everyday. I have a young friend who has had terrible challenges in her short life, but she is a ray of sunshine to everyone she meets. Yesterday when she was waiting tables at a local restaurant, one of her customers thanked her for being such a light and gave her a 100% tip and wrote her a sweet note on the bill. She posted the note on FB for all of us to see. She makes others happy because she knows how it feels to be sad.

  20. Sarah says:

I’m usually a lurker, but wanted to say thanks for sharing, I passed these by on Facebook but am glad I took the time to look as they really are heartwarming….

Thanks Cherry. Am knww deep in costumes and its the dress rehearsal for Bugsy at school today. Loved your post. All summed up by ‘ we all need kindness in our lives and kindness costs nothing but means everything. Have a good day with your two lovely toddlies

  22. sadie says:

what have you done to me woman? You’ve made me blub so much. It’s good to remember all the good stuff in the world.
Number 8 just had be choking back tears.

It reminds me of something the husband and I were talking about recently.(Number 18 made me think of this). He read that someone in Starbucks not only bought his own coffee, but paid for the rest of the queue as a genuine and random act of kindness. He also said that he’d read about some bloke who had paid for his own petrol, and asked if he could be charged for the next person who had filled their car. When they came in, the petrol had been paid for. Just a random gift. I love hearing about good stuff, and I know what my next random act of kindness is going to be when I’m in town.

Give a little love, it’s sure to come back :)

loved this post. Thank you for it.
    :)
