{Poppies that grow through the gravel on my driveway. Picked this morning}
Way back in November of last year I asked you all if you’d like a forum to discuss various topics. I think it was a fairly equal split between those who wanted one and liked the idea of having a chat with like minded people and those who thought it would dilute my website, could turn in to a bit of a dark place and wanted to keep things as they were.
I’ve given it a lot of thought actually and it wasn’t until Saturday that I decided what I was going to do.
On Saturday morning I was considering buying the Shades of Grey book series for my kindle as I’d heard them being talked about a lot but had no idea what they were about. I popped the question of whether I should buy them on to my Facebook page and the best discussion ensued. It was passionate and funny and straight and respectful and I loved it.
All my doubts about things going slightly south when you ask people for their opinions vanished and I loved reading every one of the comments. So I think it’s time to open my Facebook page up in a different way and make you all feel a lot more welcome to contribute, start discussions, ask questions, get the names of suppliers etc. I’m also going to try and figure out a way of adding a file so that you can all add the links of your blogs/shops and businesses. I know this is possible as there is one attached to a fabulous local mums networking group I belong to and I don’t want the main page to become a directory and for comments and questions to get lost.
I already get a lot of spam to this page so I’ve got moderation in place, this means that your post may not appear straight away but will appear.
I’d also like to let you know about the fantastic group of people I follow on instagram. It’s LOVELY over there too and with the added bonus of pictures. Smart, funny, creative people who are an absolute delight and picked me up the other morning when I was feeling totally wiped out. I have an appointment for my B12 shot tomorrow, my first in three months, so I’m a bit tired. But hey ho, aren’t we all from time to time!
Anyway, here is the link to the Facebook page I was talking about -
and I’m @cherrymenlove on instagram.
Have a fabulous day, a wonderful week and I’ll see you back here tomorrow.
I love you and thank you for reading.
Cherry x

Cherry I love reading your blog and following along with your life. I love your creativity and your home/garden/children – you get the idea. I think this is a great idea however might I suggest that you create a group page on Facebook. People are added by invite – not sure how you would do a mass invite however this allows you the option of creating documents that can be shared with the group with information such as links, etc. I am currently in two groups and the sharing that goes on in these groups is awesome. Either way, I will be following your page.
Fabby idea Cherry! Hope you’re feeling better soon. Lots of love. xxx
I’d heard of the shades of grey series recently but didn’t know much about it either, but since reading your discussion on facebook the other night I’m now tempted to read it, even if it is a bit rubbish. I think we all need a nice easy read now and again.
I like the sound of instagram. Yet another thing for me to join and not keep up with. Sorry friends x
Oooh this is exciting, I like the idea of your Facebook page being a more interactive space, a sharing space. I also the idea of your site staying the way it is because I love visiting it so much – I’m still finding older posts that you did before I found your site. I appreciate the way, even though great, new adventures are happening for you, the site still feels like a personal blog because of the way you write and the lovely photos you share.
Instagram is great but I hadn’t used it for more than taking pretty photos before, I shall follow you and have a look for these lovely people you’ve found over there. I’m @SueMarieV

Morning Cherry and everyone. Just wanting to check in and wish you all a happy and fruitfull week. I’m about to start decorating the hall this week, it’s looking v tired and battered. My aim is to get the painting done this week while my 4yr old twins are at pre-school, then when Mum and Dad come to stay this weekend they are going to do the wallpapering. My dad is brilliant at it, we are awful! It’s all neutrals but the paper has a large vintage rose print on it. It’ll be lovely to open the front door and not go eeergghh!

I absolutely love forum discussions about book recommendations – generally people are enthusiastic and friendly in them! Hopefully if the threads can stick to helpful tips and recommendations about other topics too, with a bit of laughter thrown in, then we will all have a good time! Thanks Cherry. Cx
I’m not on facebook, so it looks like I won’t be able to join in. Never mind, at least I can still comment here. You will be keeping the comments too, won’t you?
Have a good start to the week, good luck with the jab tomorrow.

p.s pretty flowers.
Gosh, yes, of course. It just seemed to me that there was a group already conversing so they didn’t need me to set up a new forum and ask them to schlep all the way over there. You’re on twitter though, which is awesome! Cx
oh phew! that’s good. And yes, I’m on twitter – I LOVE twitter! x
