Cupcake Heaven at Glynde Food Festival

I ‘cupcaked’ yesterday for twelve hours in preparation for the Glynde Food Festival taking place tomorrow. Do come along if you are in the area.

I’m hosting a Cupcake Heaven workshop, which is free to attend, and I’ve had an absolute ball preparing for it (although I’ve had the worst cough/cold EVER the cupcakes have soothed me (!).

I texted Robert on the train last night with the word ‘Chinese?’ because after I’d put the kids to bed (they spent the day with grandma and went to the park) I was straight back in to the kitchen and had  another dozen cakes in the oven. There was no room on any of the surfaces to make dinner even if I had wanted to so a take-out was our only option.

I am a very big fan of making cupcakes and have done it for a long time. Each one is a small canvas, plain and undecorated at the start. This changes as soon as the first layer of butter cream or fondant hits the surface of the sponge.

And even I have no idea where it’ll end up.

I am off to carry on. I have to pack up all of my equipment and work out a really safe way of transporting all of my cakes. I was asked to demo four cupcakes in the thirty minutes I’ve been allocated but I’ve gone slightly off piste and have added a few more to the mix. I hope that’s OK with anybody who may be attending. I’m hoping it’ll be like we’re hanging out and just chatting and it will be AMAZING to meet some of you for the first time.

I’ll leave you with some of the cakes I’ll be bringing with me tomorrow. Some are complete some are not, they are in different stages of readiness. But that’s OK, I know you won’t mind.

Have a fantastic weekend whatever you may be doing. I’ll be here on Saturday!

I love you.

Cherry x

Oh, I shall miss this as I have to work, but they look fabulous, Cherry! I see you use Squires bits and bobs….the shop is only 5 minutes down the road from me….I’m like a kid in a sweetie shop every time I go there!!!

They look wonderful and I am hoping to get to the food festival although my dear husband is getting the ‘rain-fear’ in which case we’ll be tucked up in London but the thought is definitely there.

oh gosh, they really do look too good to eat! I wish I had your talent and patience for making such beautiful cakes. I’m more of a ‘blob it on and hope for the best’ kind of girl! I start with good intentions, but I’m too lazy to make things as pretty as you.

Have fun tomorrow. Hope the weather is kind to you!
    :)
