If you’re anything like me and have an open fire or log burner that you use during the colder months then gathering in the fire-making materials will be [...]

Sunflower Door Wreath 1 - Cherry Menlove

A great way to use sunflowers that you have grown yourself or buy from the store is to attach them to a wreath.
I have a pre-existing wreath that is heart shaped. I tied several sunflower heads to the wreath using florists wire and filled the spaces that were left with daisies and other flowers from the garden.

Chipstead Flower Show 09 - 1 - Cherry Menlove

A Day to be a Darling Bud

Packing a Picnic Lunch for Children

Packing a Picnic Lunch for Children in the Style of Dick Whittington

It’s nice to be able to use up scraps of fabric in a way that doesn’t always end up with the scrap becoming a tea-towel. We’re having a great summer here in the UK with the weather behaving REALLY WELL. This means that the [...]

Picking Asparagus 09 - 1- Cherry Menlove

Pick Your Own Asparagus
The ‘Pick Your Own’ season has started again in earnest and, as in previous years, it’s Asparagus that starts us off on this particular culinary and outdoor adventure.

Asparagus is odd and cute when it’s growing. As you walk closer towards the current year’s crop you start to see spiky things growing straight up [...]

The Sweet Simplicity of Happiness Series - Life on the Lawn

The weather in England has been really good this week. In fact I had a new Barbour jacket delivered yesterday and ended up having to take it off due to it being too warm. I don’t expect that these temperatures will last right through until October [...]
