  "It is my belief that if we enjoy being in the place that we call ‘home’ we have more strength to tackle the things we face outside of it. That is where I’m starting from." 

So, what does that mean?
It means that I focus my time, creativity and energy in to inspiring people to make their homes places of rest, peace, fun and comfortable safety, places they actually want to be in at the end of a working day.
I do this by showing examples of decorative ideas that I have created in my own house. Ideas that inspire a feeling of well being as soon as you open the gate to your front garden. I create new recipes using produce that is in season and flourishing at the time. Promoting the idea that it really doesn't take as long as you think to make a meal from scratch if you have a few of the basics already in place & even if you don't believe it can be done!
I think hard about organisational practises that make the day to day running of your home-life easier whether you are a stay at home mum, a person in full time employment away from the home or somebody running their own business from their home – this last one can throw up all sorts of obstacles that one would not expect, believe me!
I love to come up with ways to entertain that make your guests feel like a million dollars, ideas that focus on those little touches which really do make all the difference.
I am also rather determined to take the mystery out of the rather daunting task of taking on a garden. Latin names, jargon and the unpredictability of plants and flowers can take the joy out of a pursuit that enriches the soul whether you have an estate or an urban window box. But this unpredictability is also what makes the ride so worthwhile and the learning so rich.
I design and make decorative and useful items for you and your home and sell them in my on-line store, Like Snow in Rosebud. These designs come from a love of the English countryside and an opinion that light open spaces within the home, punctuated by splashes of colour is absolutely the way to go.

I document everything I do right here. I also document the things that don't always go according to the plan. So don't be surprised if I pop up from time to time a little miffed!
I do all of this because of several reasons. I love to communicate, I love to write, I love to create and I love to help. But most of all I love the feeling of plopping down on my sofa at the end of a day and knowing that all is well under my roof and I can 'Be'. This is the feeling that I want to pass on to you.

I live in a Victorian house in Surrey, England with the love of my life Robert and our cat Boo. We married on August 1st, 2008 in a small wooden chapel. We love to travel, eat, shop for clothes, give ourselves ridiculous projects to finish in very tight time frames and stay busy. In fact it would seem that we have almost grown out of our cottage and need a bigger project to tackle. Watch this space.
