Good morning! Happy Monday! How the devil are you all? We’re good here in West Sussex. We’ve had a weekend of so many adventures and conversations and progress and unimaginably fantastic things and thoughts and dreams that I feel like I’m coming back to the start of the week for a rest. Of course when you have teeny tiny babies rest is sometimes hard to come by as was the case this morning. Anaïs had a fit at four thirty a.m. which, THANKFULLY, is rare as they have both been going through the night since about three months. But I think it was her gums that were giving her trouble. Either that or she just wanted a cuddle in the middle of the night. Which she duly got.
But I found myself all out of kilter this morning. At the time I was meant to be getting them both up for breakfast they had already been fed and were getting tired. At the time I was meant to be getting in the shower I was feeding Ned and when I was meant to be getting them dressed Ned was asleep on his play mat and Anaïs was crying inconsolably and not knowing what was going on. And then for some reason as I was meant to be watching a drama that I taped last night both of them looked at me with their big baby eyes and seemed to want a cuddle. I call this a total lack of generosity on their part and both are still residing on the naughty step!
Don’t come between Mama and her Channel Four drama, kiddos!
So I’m hoping, if you are lacking a little shut-eye yourself, that you’ll rather like this Christmas Gift Idea that I have for you today.

The Cookie Bundle is one of the best things that you can give to a person. I know, I have been given them myself and I truly love them.

But when the bundle is decorated with hand-sewn Christmas tree decorations and has the cookie recipe written on the label???
Well, that is when the gift goes in to orbit and the person you gave it to will love you forever. They may love you so much that they turn up at your front door at all times of day and night. In fact the love may grow so much that when you hear a knock at the front door you do an SAS style dive behind the sofa in order to hide. The fact that all of the lights and the television are on in your house seems to have escaped you and you wish a plague upon the Cookie Bundle that you gave so innocently.

Anyhoo!
I’m sure that none of your friends are psychos so I say get baking and get bundling.
You can use my Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe and my Blanket Stitch Tutorial if you’d like to copy my bundle idea. The boxes I bought from a baking supply store online and I believe that they are readily available. * Edited to add * Squires Kitchen is a wonderful resource.
I’ll be back tomorrow with a cute wee project that I did in front of the fire at the weekend. It’s another Christmas Gift idea. But beware, this one is so pretty that it’ll have to come with a warning.
If you think the outpouring of love you received after the Cookie Bundle was given was intense you’ve seen nothing yet. After tomorrow’s project you may have to seriously consider a Witness Protection Program.
Have a lovely Monday. I love you and send you the best wishes I can from the heart of West Sussex.

I think this every time I read your blog: how do you find the time???
Hello, I absolutely love your blog. I just started sewing some Chrismtas decorations using felt for the very first time. Could you tell me where do you buy your lovely red spots felt please? It is absolutely gorgeous and cute. I looked everywhere and couldn’t find them either at the shops or online
Thank you!
Hello Pat, we bought the red spotty felt from Hobbycraft last year. I have just popped onto the Hobbycraft site but sadly I cannot see it, they do however have this cute alternative…

I think the cookie bundles are cute as can be! They would make fabulous gifts for co-workers or neighbors.
Who doesn’t appreciate a sweet treat, especially this time of year!

You know, here it is Monday morning, and I’m absolutely giggling with amusement reading your post! Wasn’t much looking forward to today but thanks to you, I am now! Must find a source for felt. It’s shameful how all the lovely little fabric stores I spent so many fond teenage hours pouring through pattern books and looking at bolts of material to make just the right dress for the school dance have gone by the wayside. I must track one down for the granddaughters to know the same joy of letting their creative couture imaginations sprout! Oh, I must tell you, coming back from Disneyland, a darlaing toddler boy in the airport had on shoes that squeaked like a dog toy with every step! My family said he had the waiting area in stitches because his mother kept track of him by his squeaks! Eldest granddaughter promptly came home and put two doggy squeak toys in her massive slipper boots and has been squeaking ever since!
Hi Cherry,
What type of thread do you use for your balnket stitch?
Thanks!
Hello Lindsay
I used embroidery thread. Cx
Absolutely lovely idea! Definitely on my gift giving list to my neighbors this year. Thanks for all of the wonderful inspiration!!! Simply adore you, Cherry. Hope tonight your wee ones get a full night sleep along with their Mum!

Hi,
I stumbled across your blog and must admit I’m already addicted. I have no idea how to sew AT ALL but you’ve inspired me to learn. One thing I do know is baking, as a pastry chef in a previous life (pre-baby) I absolutely LOVE this idea for gifts, please can you tell me where you got the boxes for the cookies, I have googled and googled and no such luck just yet
Thank you!
