Today I’d like to introduce you to my Springtime Quilt for 2010. Inspired by some of the early Spring colours but beautifully bright and light.

This quilt was made to sit on a Kingsize (UK) bed very nicely and measures approximately 210 cm square (82 inches square)

Sewn with handmade/hand-stitched binding it is also totally reversible. Two quilts in one and great for when you fancy a change.

My quilt moves about the house quite a bit and is now on the daybed that sits at the bottom of my bed until it goes out for the summer to sit under the beech tree. As the filling is made from the wonderful super-light but super-cosy bamboo wadding I can and will enjoy this quilt all year round and may take it to the hospital with me when the twins are ready to make an appearance.

Of course I can already imagine that this quilt is going to be tossed in to the back of the car as we head off for picnics as well as being dragged down the stairs to cover tiny feet up as the seasons change. It’s very easy to wash and very easy to make. I’m not going to lie, making this quilt will require a certain amount of time and commitment but if you’re ready for it then it’s ready for you.

And tomorrow I’ll take you through the whole process.

I simply wanted to whet your appetite today with how utterly delicious and fabulous it is to have something so gorgeous to hand for so many occasions.
